Frozen - Movie Review

Frozen is a pretty good movie with brilliant animation and some really genius ideas with the ice that looked beautiful.  Jack Frost should learn a few of those tricks.   Erroneously, I though that this wasn't a musical, so you can imagine my shock once people started breaking out in song.  Even then, the first two (three if you count the intro music) songs I actually liked.  Everything after that was grating.  Still, the humor managed to offset the damage done more often than not so, this still makes my top ten favorite animations list.

Side notes/minor spoilers:  I had hoped Elsa would get together with Kristoff and I still can't imagine why that didn't happen.  Oh well.  I also strongly dislike how wolves were portrayed in this film.  Wolves do not go around attacking people.  They just don't, nor do they need any more bad publicity while they're an endangered species.

Quotes and Things

  • My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
  • You cry, I cry.  You laugh, I laugh.  You jump off a cliff...I laugh again.

Wesley was my favorite character in the Buffy/Angel shows.  That is until he went all stuffy and depressing.

Anyways, on yet another unrelated topic, I've decided to hunt for awesome German bands.  Actually, I've already found a bunch, weeks ago to be exact.  However, I thought I'd start posting about a "new" band every week or so.

My Birthday

So, yesterday was my birthday and despite it also being father's day it wasn't that bad. We made root beer floats and ate dinner at The Three Lion's Pub which is now my favorite restaurant.  The food was delicious and the decor was quite amusing.

One notable thing was the card I received from my bro, the last line said, "Wishing you peace and comfort at this sad time".  I took it as a joke but he had just assumed it said "Happy Birthday".  Which is a warning for you all, read the whole card before you give it to someone!

Henry - Attack Conure

Lately, Henry has been more and more of a pill, screaming all day long and he's shown no improvement on the hand-taming front.  Just a few hours ago he "violently" bit a family member.  Of course, I blame them.  If you know a parrot bites you don't go up and stick your fingers in the cage at every opportunity.  It probably didn't help that I laughed but how could I not?  For some twisted reason I find it immensely humorous when someone else is in pain for no other reason than stupidity.

Still, I really need to find a training method that works.  Clearly, what I'm doing now is not improving the situation.  Although, sometimes I think it does in a very small way.

Moments

I've been trying to find out where I left off in Supernatural and ended up re-watching this episode.  So funny.

Quote Findings (Big Bang Theory)

I've been watching a lot of the Big Bang Theory of late. I have a lot to catch up on.  I usually don't bother watching comedies mostly because when compared to my family and the majority of my friends I have a completely different sense of humor (or lack of).  And, I assumed I just wouldn't like most comedies.  For example, I don't get why people like the Mindy show, or project (whatever it's called)

Anyways, one evening when nothing interesting was on TV I was flicking around and found the Big Bang Theory.  Now I can't stop watching.  It is on five days a week and I try my best never to miss and episode.

If you haven't watched it then you don't know who Sheldon is, but he's basically the main character and here are some of my favorite quotes...

  • "Oh gravity, thou art a heartless bitch"
  • "I think that you have as much of a chance of having a sexual relationship with Penny as the Hubble Telescope does of discovering that in the center of every black hole there's a little man with a flashlight searching for a circuit breaker"
  • "I'll watch the last 24 minutes of Doctor Who, although at this point it's more like Doctor Why Bother"
  • "Oh, what fresh hell is this?"
